January - Part 1

January started out with a little Sunday snow storm. We LOVED the snow, it reminded us of how much we miss it. Texans are a little more cautious than necessary when it comes to snow, and as such church was canceled early. We came home to a delicious, warm hash-brown soup, camped out in front of the fireplace and watched the Sound of Music.

The next morning I woke up about 3 with my phone making noise like it was charging, and coming off the charger. I didn't think anything of it until my internal alarm woke me up at 5. I rolled over to check the time, and the clock was out. Yep, the power was out. Luckily the iPhones were charged so we checked the weather, called the power company to get an update, and hoped for a school closure . . . no such luck. (Thus the picture in bed, courtesy lighting via flash light!) We got ready for the work in the dark (gratefully the clothes were ironed and lunches were made the night before) and hit Einstein's for breakfast. (On the *cough, cough* vanity side: my hair stayed looking nice from the day before, the flat iron didn't need to go to work with me!)

When we came home the power was back up and everything was grand. So while it maybe a little dark around, we're still on Cloud 9!

Until next time,
B + C
