Christmas Eve was definitely one for the books! My mom had gotten this little booklet (I'll look up the author and such if any one is interested) that had the story of the Savior's birth broken up by pictures and Christmas carols. C was in charge of reading the stories while I was supervising the singing of the carols. Our singing at times left little to be desired and I sang like a 14 year old boy. Admist the laughs and carrying on we all felt the love for our Savior and joy that His life and example bring to each one of our lives.
After the caroling I talked with my brother's girlfriend via Skype for the first time. . . as Cindy Lou Who . . . you only get one chance to make a first impression and it was a good one! Hopefully she'll forgive me for my craziness. (Look closely at the picture below.) To top the evening off we watched "Ernest Saves Christmas." C had never been exposed to the Ernest movies and I think he's fine with just one Ernest movie!
After Christmas we took the opportunity to hit the slopes with my brother to get our snow and ski fix for the season. The skiing and scenery were beautiful, reminding us how much we miss the mountain west. While our trip was enjoyable we were happy to come home to ring in 2011.
Until next time, we're living on Cloud 9!
