In the summer I usually work in June (this summer I wrote Algebra curriculum for my school district - so amazing to rub shoulders with the best of the best!) and then have July and part of August to practice my stay-at-home-wife skills, which are pretty amazing if I do say so myself! While summer is full of seriously needed rest and relaxation, it usually also comes with a huge to-do-list of things I neglect during the school year or make perfect summer projects. Here's a look at a few things on my summer list:
* Turn the "junk room" into the sewing room . . . Check! I love having the space to spread out and C loves having the kitchen table back!
* Test out making Roman Shades for the guest room . . . Check (thanks to my friend J). (Doesn't this look like a nice room to stay in?!?)
* Decorate the great room . . . Partial Check . . . decorating/designing our home seems to take us forever! We still have a long list of what we want this room to look/feel like, we're getting there, slowly, but surely. We'll probably devote a whole post to this room one day.
* Finish the study decor . . . um, check back later . . . does having C hang drapes count? Once again we'll probably have a whole post on this cute room.
* Organize food storage . . . Check!! It's amazing how much we still need for a 3 month/year supply and how much extra space I discovered when things are organized!
* Revamp 72-hour kits . . . um, yeah I may have to do that during the school year.
* Run a bunch of miles and hang out at the pool . . . CHECK!!!
* Experiment with new recipes . . . Check! . . . why do you think we run so much?!?!
***NOTE: I have learned that to be most productive with one's to-do-list, staying in pajamas with grungy, pinned up hair all day is most preferable!
I'm on Cloud 9 . . . until August 15th!

What I wouldn't give for a sewing room! Your home is so cute!
