January - Part 3 of 3

January 19th marked not only the 4th anniversary of our first date, but also the end of an era in the Cloud family.

We had our morning prayers, I gave C a hug and a kiss and sent him off to work. As I was putting my shoes on to leave C called. I was expecting him to let me know he was a work and I was excited to tell him that in the grocery ads organic ground beef at our favorite market was on sale for $3.77/lb (a big deal when the regular price is about $7!), but instead he said he had been in an accident. He was fine, but it didn't look good for the car.

Traffic had slowed and C slowed to a stop. As C stopped he looked in his rear view mirror to see a Chevy Avalanche coming straight at him. The Avalanche hit him and in turn C hit the car in front of him. Gratefully C and the other drivers were all safe. After a couple of days and a police report, it was determined that C was not a fault and the Elantra was totaled. :(

When we went to sign over the car, it was a sad day for C, and I shed a few tears. It was C's first car, the car we courted in, the car that first brought us to Texas, and it's chapter in our lives is come to an end unexpectedly and far too quickly. So long Tour Bus, it's been a good ride.

Until next time, we're living on Cloud 9!
