2 months and then Some

Chris and I have now been blissfully married for 2 months and 11 days. Here is brief update of our married Texas-adventures.

1 - After we left the festivities of the wedding - which were perfect and so fun - we "honeymooned" in Park City. During the hectic day of getting married we got to our fabulous hotel and realized the only pair of shoes I had with me were on my feet. They were darling heels that didn't go with the Park City attire. Needless to say after laughing about the irony of the Shoe Queen without her shoes we bought a pair of flops to make the rest of the trip.

2 - 1.5 weeks after getting married we got the swine flu at the Cloud household. It was entertaining.

3 - During the Swine Flu my darling husband went to get my birthday gift and groceries, since I was home in bed. While going to the store a crazy Texas driver hit into him. It took about 3 weeks to get everything repaired. Gratefully the other driver's insurance paid for everything including the rental car.

4 - Exploring Dallas. We live in an area full of shops and restaurants. One Saturday Chris planned a day in Highland Park, which is home to SMU. It was way fun! The strip of shops reminded us of St. Helena, CA and Park City, UT. For lunch we stopped at this local-yokel restaurant, Wild About Harry's - Hot Dogs and Frozen Custard. We got to meet Harry and enjoyed our hot dogs and dessert. We still have many other places to explore in Dallas. We have yet to experience a true Texas BBQ, but its coming!

5 - Snakes, Lizards, frogs oh my! We try to keep up our workout regimen which is a little more difficult now that we both work about 50 hours a week. One day while running we passed a frog, just chillin' in the grass. Another day Chris left for work and in the garage was a lizard, some say gecko, regardless is was 4-5 inches too big for our liking! The latest wildlife sighting was in the Home Depot parking lot. A 12 inch baby snake. Chris' inner-boy came out and he HAD to see if it was alive and guess, it was! GROSS!!!!!!!!!!!

6 - Holiday Planning. October was the month to plan the Holidays. California with the Clouds for Thanksgiving, Colorado with the Allred's for Christmas, and British Columbia, Canada for New Year's and our REAL honeymoon.

7 - Our first Christmas Tree! After visiting 4 stores, some more than once, and 2 hours we picked the perfect 7.5 ft, pre-lit, GE, Black Hills Fir, artificial Christmas tree! While we are both morally and philosophically opposed to putting a Christmas tree up before Thanksgiving, ours is up and almost decorated!

Thus a brief update of our Texas-adventures!

Until next time, we're living on Cloud 9!
