Game Plan:
1 - pull out old mulch (which ended up being 19 fifty gallon lawn bags)
2 - create defined mulch rings for the trees (edging was made of recycled milk jugs)
3 - put down ground cloth to help with the unwanted grass in the mulch (ground cloth made from recycled plastic bottles)
4 - trim the bushes and trees
5 - re-mulch
6 - plant the container garden in the back and pretty native flowers in the front
Looks pretty good! We found the front pots at IKEA, a much better deal than the $100/per pot at the nursery. The flowers in the front and basil looked better before the weekly rain/hail storms we've had the last 4 weeks - no complaining from us though, we'll definitely take a lower water bill over mopey flowers! The garden is coming along, one tomato plant already has 11 fruit growing. We're looking forward to fresh veggies and homemade pesto.
Until next time we're living (and growing) on Cloud 9!

... side note: after reading this post to C, this is what he had to add: "If we just had a cow and some grain we could make our own pizza . . . and maybe a pig for some pepperoni . . ." LOL, I LOVE HIM!
